Baseball Recap: Fountain Inn Beats Westside for Their Third Straight Victory

Fountain Inn won against Powdersville last Wednesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Fountain Inn had just enough and edged out the Westside Rams 5-3. Winning may never get old, but the Fury sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Brayden Passmore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Fountain Inn saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anderson Hayes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. Dominick Stopa was another, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Fountain Inn's victory bumped their record up to 9-2-1. As for Westside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-3.

Fountain Inn will have a chance to go back-to-back against Westside: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
