Soccer Recap: Lake Zurich Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lake Zurich was the 1-0 winner over Zion-Benton when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bears fell just short of the Zee-Bees by a score of 3-2 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Lake Zurich can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Zion-Benton are ranked 30th).

Lake Zurich's loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8-1. As for Zion-Benton, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3-1 record this season.

Lake Zurich wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Palatine on the 11th. As for Zion-Benton, they will head out to take on Cristo Rey St. Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
