Basketball Recap: Bunker Hill Takes a Loss

Bunker Hill lost against Bandys back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bunker Hill Bears had to suffer through a 70-15 loss at the hands of the Bandys Trojans. The match marked the Bears' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hayley Spriggle was Bunker Hill's leading scorer, having posted five points. Maddie Moore held things down on the boards with four rebounds.

Bandys was led to victory by Addison Bell and Lexi Vaughan. Bell went 10 for 17 en route to 28 points along with seven steals and six boards, while Vaughan went 7 of 14 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. Vaughan is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. Madison Gault was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Bunker Hill has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Bandys, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

Bunker Hill has already played their next contest (against Lincolnton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bandys will venture away from home to face off against West Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bandys is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.
