Volleyball Recap: East Providence Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with La Salle Academy

East Providence faced La Salle Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Townies fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-2. The Townies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

East Providence took La Salle Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 21-25, 15-9.

East Providence's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8. As for La Salle Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

As of now, neither East Providence nor La Salle Academy have any future games scheduled.
