Softball Game Preview: Catalina Trojans vs. Safford Bulldogs

Catalina hasn't had much luck against Safford recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Catalina has given up an average of 18.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Catalina is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 18th straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They lost 18-1 to Pusch Ridge Christian Academy.

Safford never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Rio Rico on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Hawks. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Catalina's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Safford, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Catalina might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Safford when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
