Volleyball Recap: Jahaira Ramirez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southwest over Macarthur

Southwest lost against MacArthur back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dragons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brahmas.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-11, 21-25, 25-18.

Several Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jahaira Ramirez, who had ten digs and two aces.

MacArthur's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella McCoy led the charge by getting ten digs, five kills, five aces, and one block. Those five aces gave McCoy a new career-high. Emily Morrison was another key player, getting 16 digs and eight kills.

Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 17-20. As for MacArthur, they pushed their record up to 24-12 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Southwest has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Harlandale on the 14th. As for MacArthur, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Jay on the 14th.
