Softball Recap: Camden Central Triumphs

Camden Central's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They skirted past the Waverly Central Tigers 7-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 back in March.

Avery Wright was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abbi-Grace Wallace, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Camden Central's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Waverly Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camden Central will square off against Milan at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Waverly Central, they will take on Dickson County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
