Lincoln-Way Central waltzed into their match on Saturday with 18 straight wins... but they left with 19. They came out on top against the Mundelein Mustangs by a score of 8-5.

Jalese Hays looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kayla Doerre was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. Teagan Berkshire was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Lincoln-Way Central's win bumped their record up to 30-1. As for Mundelein, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-9.

Coincidentally, Lincoln-Way Central and Mundelein will both be playing Fremd the next time they take the field. The Knights will head out to face the Vikings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
