Baseball Recap: Seven Lakes Comes Up Short

Seven Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-3 to the Katy Tigers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

James Levin was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed over his last four games.

On the hitting side, Seven Lakes saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeff Sisan, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Sisan a new career-high in doubles (two).

Seven Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Katy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-5.

While Seven Lakes had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
