Mt. Carmel barely beat Mission Hills the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Sundevils put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Sundevils in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won three in a row.

While Mt. Carmel won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-19, 25-23.

Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keilani Pacheco, who had six digs and two aces. Jaelynn Le was another key player, getting 11 digs and three assists.

Mt. Carmel's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Mission Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-7.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Mt. Carmel and La Costa Canyon will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mission Hills, they will head out on the road to face off against Sage Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
