Basketball Recap: Mabton Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Mabton waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Granger Spartans 68-51. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 73-63 back in December of 2024.

Mabton has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Granger, they dropped their record down to 9-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Mabton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tri-Cities Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tri-Cities Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Mabton likes a good challenge. As for Granger, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Connell at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday.
