Basketball Game Preview: Fountain Central Mustangs vs. Rossville Hornets

The Fountain Central Mustangs will head out to square off against the Rossville Hornets at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fountain Central has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Rossville will arrive with five straight wins.

On Thursday, Fountain Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 27-23 to Covington.

Meanwhile, Rossville had just enough and edged Eastern out 58-56 on Friday.

Fountain Central better keep an eye on Brayden Thiele-Hahn. He was instrumental in Rossville's win, shooting 6-for-10 from deep and dropping a double-double on 31 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Cooper Dunn, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Rossville pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Fountain Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Fountain Central ended up a good deal behind Rossville in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, losing 60-44. Can Fountain Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
