Softball Recap: Lake Brantley Extends Home Winning Streak to 15

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lake Brantley had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Apopka Blue Darters as they made off with a 9-2 victory. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Auriana Turner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Rylie Morris, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lake Brantley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive contests.

Lake Brantley pushed their record up to 25-3 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Apopka, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-6.

Looking ahead, Lake Brantley will face off against Hagerty at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 3.5, the Huskies 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Apopka does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
