Volleyball Recap: Alvin Comes Up Short

Alvin's tournament run continued when they took on Thorndale on Thursday. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1.

Lauren Weber paced Alvin's offense, picking up seven kills. Weber got some help from Hayleigh Griffin and her 15 assists. Jatara Roland and Payton Ashley kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Alvin has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Thorndale, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Alvin has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Davenport on the 21st. As for Thorndale, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Aubrey on the 22nd.
