The Metter Tigers and the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

If Metter beats McIntosh County Academy with 64 points on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Metter claimed a resounding 64-28 victory over Claxton. That 36 point margin sets a new team best for Metter this season.

McIntosh County Academy fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Portal 53-22 on Friday.

Metter better keep an eye on Zione Bland. She was instrumental in McIntosh County Academy's win, going 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points and six steals. Bland has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Jkaiya Moore was another key player, putting up five points along with seven rebounds and six steals.

Metter's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for McIntosh County Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Metter didn't have too much breathing room in their game against McIntosh County Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, but they still walked away with a 45-39 victory.
