Volleyball Recap: Ell-Saline Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Ell-Saline duked it out with Central Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Ell-Saline started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-10, 25-16.

Bret Hecker paced Ell-Saline's offense, picking up five kills. Hecker also shared the team's lead in assists with Callee Bradley: they picked up five each. Finally, Paisley Jensen kept Ell-Saline's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Ell-Saline's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Central Christian Academy, they moved to 11-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Ell-Saline has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Remington on the 23rd. As for Central Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Bennington on the 23rd.
