Football Recap: Wellsboro Hornets vs. North Penn-Mansfield Tigers
After flying high against Northwest Area last Friday, Wellsboro came back down to earth. The Wellsboro Hornets were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 28-27 to the North Penn-Mansfield Tigers. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Cooper Shaw was his usual excellent self, rushing for 154 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 113 yards and a touchdown for North Penn-Mansfield. Shaw was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards.
Wellsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for North Penn-Mansfield, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.
As of now, neither Wellsboro nor North Penn-Mansfield have any future games scheduled.
