Basketball Game Preview: Bowen Boilermakers vs. Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs

The Bowen Boilermakers and the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs will round out the year against one another at at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bowen saw some tournament action on Saturday. They ended the year with a bang, routing Illini Central 71-51. The Boilermakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Jeremiah Carter was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 16 points, 12 rebounds, and ten assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Ahmad Marega, who went 6 of 13 en route to 17 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, as they earned their first road win of the season. They snuck past Roanoke-Benson/Eureka with a 47-42 win on Saturday.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Bowen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.
