Chapel Hill is 2-7 against Jordan since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Tigers will welcome the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Chapel Hill has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It was a proper cat-fight when Chapel Hill faced off against East Chapel Hill on Tuesday. The Tigers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 12-4.

Channing Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and six unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Alexandra (Kes) Duncan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jillian Evans, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Jordan waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Knights. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Sidney Sharp and Kylie Specht did most of the damage at the plate: Sharp fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4, while Specht scored three runs and stole five bases while going 4-for-4. Those two home runs gave Sharp a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Harris, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Jordan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Durham only posted an OBP of .250.
Jordan's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Chapel Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Chapel Hill has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. However, it's not like Jordan struggles in that department as they've averaged .488. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chapel Hill might still be hurting after the 12-4 loss they got from Jordan when the teams last played back in March. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
