Football Recap: Edison Piles Up the Points Against Lodi

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Edison). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 56-17 win over the Lodi Flames. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Flames recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

It was another big night for Devin Rasmussen, who threw for 393 yards and seven touchdowns on only 16 passes. Those seven passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Edison's run defense was locked in: Lodi could only muster 2.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Dezmond Sanders for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Edison; they were averaging 4.3yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three games they've fallen to only 3.7 per game.

Edison's defense didn't let Drew Tetz, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Although Lodi took the loss, they still got scores from Mark Adkins and Noah Hufford.

Edison's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Lodi, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, after each having a week off, Edison and Grant will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Pacers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. Lodi does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
