Recap: Horizon Huskies vs. Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles
The Horizon Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Scottsdale Christian Academy by a score of 59-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Owen Brackmann, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Brackmann scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hayes, who scored 14 points.
Horizon has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Horizon won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Gilbert Christian at 3:00 p.m. on December 15th. Gilbert Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Horizon in Arizona (Gilbert Christian is ranked 42nd, while Horizon is ranked 208th). Scottsdale Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cesar Chavez at 3:00 p.m. on December 29th.
