Baseball Game Preview: Saugus Centurions vs. West Ranch Wildcats

For the second straight game, Saugus will face off against West Ranch. Saugus will be playing in front of their home fans against West Ranch at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Saugus has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while West Ranch will arrive with four straight wins.

Saugus fell victim to West Ranch and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

For West Ranch's part, the result came thanks to Hunter Manning's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. That's the fewest hits Manning has allowed since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Omar Gutierrez was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Ryan Oh was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

West Ranch's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Saugus, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
