Volleyball Recap: Cartersville's Undefeated Season over After 11 Games

Cartersville lost against Mount Paran Christian back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hurricanes fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Cartersville started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-17, 15-11.

Holly Dufrene paced Cartersville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Dufrene got some help from Emma Wall and her 15 assists. Wall was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cartersville fell to 10-1. As for Mount Paran Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Coming up, Cartersville will square off against Marietta at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mount Paran Christian, they will challenge The King's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
