Baseball Recap: Muldrow Takes a Loss

After flying high against Central last Monday, Muldrow came back down to earth. Muldrow came up short against the Siloam Springs Panthers on Friday, falling 12-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-3 two weeks ago.

Gabe Miller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jackson Phillips, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Muldrow was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Muldrow's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Siloam Springs, they moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Muldrow will venture away from home to challenge Stigler at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Stigler will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Muldrow surely won't give up without a fight. As for Siloam Springs, they will take on Boaz in a tournament on Monday.
