Preview: Homestead Broncos vs. Northwestern Bulls

Homestead is 0-3 against Northwestern since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Homestead Broncos will take on the Northwestern Bulls at TBD. Homestead is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road dating back to last season.

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Homestead had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They never let the Thoroughbreds onto the board and left with a 2-0 win. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Homestead has scored all year.

In what's become a running theme this season, Northwestern gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. Everything went their way against TERRA Environmental as Northwestern made off with a 44-22 victory. Winning may never get old, but Northwestern sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Northwestern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Janyiah Mickens led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Mickens is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jermiah Eleby, who scored ten points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Homestead has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Northwestern, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.

Homestead was taken down by Northwestern 59-9 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Homestead, Samiya Fletcher (who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
