Football Recap: Kanab Cowboys vs. Beaver Beavers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Kanab can now relate to. They came up short against the Beaver Beavers on Saturday, falling 43-22. The Cowboys gained 114 more yards on the day, but it was the Beavers that made the best use of them.
Several Cowboys players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Troy Federkeil, who picked up 40 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 50 yards. That's the most rushing yards Federkeil has posted since back in August of 2023. Another receiver making a difference was Kash Kabonic, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Kanab wouldn't let Beaver keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Kanab can thank Nate Stewart and Federkeil for forcing both of them.
The defeat snapped Kanab's winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 9-4 record. As for Beaver, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
As of now, neither Kanab nor Beaver have any future games scheduled.
