Basketball Preview: Cypress Creek Bears vs. Windermere Wolverines
The Cypress Creek Bears will square off against the Windermere Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Wolverines are ranked 24th).
Last Friday, Cypress Creek came up short against the Wildcats and fell 48-37. Cypress Creek has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Cypress Creek saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ethan Nolan, who scored ten points, was perhaps the best of all. Kingston Baez was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Windermere came tearing into Saturday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 66-63 victory over Santa Fe Catholic. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cypress Creek has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Windermere, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
