Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Salmen). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Booker T. Washington Lions a 20-0 shutout on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Salmen's victory bumped their record up to 5-20-2. As for Booker T. Washington, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Coming up, Salmen will venture away from home to take on Chalmette on Tuesday. The Owls' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Booker T. Washington, they will challenge South Plaquemines at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
