Basketball Game Preview: New Bern Bears vs. D.H. Conley Vikings

The New Bern Bears are taking a road trip to square off against the D.H. Conley Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

New Bern is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against J.H. Rose on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. New Bern was beaten by J.H. Rose 84-41. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-20.

Meanwhile, D.H. Conley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 70-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jacksonville.

D.H. Conley's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for New Bern, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

New Bern didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against D.H. Conley when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 65-59 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was D.H. Conley's Cayden Hill, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds.
