Volleyball Recap: Cy-Fair Victorious

Cy-Fair won the last time they faced Cypress Falls and things went their way on Friday too. The Bobcats walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 23-25, 25-18, 25-15.

Macie Caramanica paced Cy-Fair's offense, picking up 15 kills. Caramanica got some help from Giselle Barbosa and her 22 assists. Pearson Noone controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the defeat, Cypress Falls saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gabreila Mendez had 14 assists and seven digs.

The win got Cy-Fair back to even at 16-16. As for Cypress Falls, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-24 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cy-Fair will take on rival Northbrook at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cypress Falls is set to face off against their familiar foe Cypress Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
