Volleyball Recap: Cardinal Stritch Takes a Loss

Cardinal Stritch lost against Patrick Henry back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cardinals lost 3-0 to the Patriots. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Cardinal Stritch was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-6, 25-22.

Gabby Cathers paced Cardinal Stritch's offense, picking up six kills. Cathers got some help from Hayden Mathena and her ten assists. Morgan Kennedy controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Kensey Weber had an outrageously good game for Patrick Henry as she had 28 assists and five digs. Weber is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 25 games she's played dating back to last season. Kelsey Schwiebert also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Cardinal Stritch's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Patrick Henry, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cardinal Stritch will face off against North Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Patrick Henry, after both having extra time off, they and Toledo Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
