Football Game Preview: Prairie Ridge Wolves vs. Vernon Hills Cougars + How To Watch

The Prairie Ridge Wolves will take on the Vernon Hills Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Prairie Ridge sitting on nine straight wins and Vernon Hills on four.

Prairie Ridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 54-26 victory over Crystal Lake South. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wolves' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Gators are ranked 361st).

Meanwhile, Vernon Hills' game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 35-22 win over Niles North.

Prairie Ridge better keep an eye on Giuseppe Urso. He was instrumental in Vernon Hills' win, rushing for 207 yards and three scores. With that strong performance, Urso is now averaging an impressive 108.2 rushing yards per game.

Vernon Hills was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 175 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Prairie Ridge's record now sits at 9-0. As for Vernon Hills, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
