Basketball Game Preview: St. Augustine Catholic Wolves vs. Bisbee Pumas

St. Augustine Catholic hasn't had much luck against Bisbee recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The St. Augustine Catholic Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Bisbee Pumas at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Tuesday, St. Augustine Catholic had to suffer through a 100-29 loss at the hands of Miami. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Vandals are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Bisbee's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a blow against Benson, falling 49-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pumas have suffered since November 27, 2024.

St. Augustine Catholic's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9. As for Bisbee, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

St. Augustine Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Bisbee in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, sneaking past 47-45. Will St. Augustine Catholic repeat their success, or does Bisbee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
