Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Victories for Marshall

The Marshall Redhawks were able to grind out a solid victory over the Gull Lake Blue Devils on Saturday, taking the game 11-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redhawks.

Brielle Kelly was excellent, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Bella Ryan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Marshall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive games.

Marshall pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall will square off against Portage Central at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Gull Lake, they will head out to square off against Lakeview at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
