Baseball Recap: Dublin's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Dublin was riding high fresh off their 8-1 takedown of Mountain House last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gaels fell just short of the De La Salle Spartans by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Gaels were not able to get on the board.

Dublin got a good showing from Kaleb McElmurry, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McElmurry has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dublin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendan Moddelmog, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Dublin's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2. As for De La Salle, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Dublin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-2 victory against Monte Vista on the 28th. As for De La Salle, they have also already played their next game, a 5-4 win against Foothill on the 28th.
