Recap: The Master's Academy Lions vs. Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy Crusaders
The Master's Academy Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy 71-39 at home. With that victory, The Master's Academy brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.
Aiden Holiday was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Davis, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Whitmire, who scored 12 points. Whitmire scored a full 30.8% of Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Camden Warlick was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
The Master's Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
The Master's Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Challenger at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Challenger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 37 last Thursday. Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Community Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
