Softball Recap: Orange Lutheran Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Orange Lutheran proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the JSerra Catholic Lions 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Lancers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Jo Marsh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Orange Lutheran's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Madelyn Armendariz, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Orange Lutheran pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for JSerra Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-13.

Orange Lutheran has already played their next matchup, a 9-2 victory against Los Alamitos on the 30th. As for JSerra Catholic, they will challenge Mater Dei at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Monarchs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
