Volleyball Recap: Spring Valley Comes Up Short

The Spring Valley Tigers came up short against the Gorton Wolves on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-10, 25-21.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gorton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lila Soto, who had seven kills and seven aces. That's the most aces Soto has posted over her last seven matchups. Katie Rojas was another key player, getting ten digs and three aces.

Spring Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Gorton, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Valley will welcome Barack Obama School for Social Justice at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Gorton, after both having extra time off, they and Poughkeepsie will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
