Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Falls to Valencia in First Game of Season

Heritage Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Valencia Vikings by a score of 47-44 on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Ali Eldein was the offensive standout of the contest as he shot 50% from the field en route to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Steven Irons, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

Coming up, Heritage Christian will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Milken at 6:30 p.m. As for Valencia, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Calabasas at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
