After a string of ten wins, Elder's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. The game between them and the St. Xavier Bombers didn't end well, with the Elder Panthers falling 46-30. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bombers from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Donovan Waleskowski was the offensive standout of the contest as he posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Wassler, who scored nine points.

Elder's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-3. As for St. Xavier, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Elder wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-44 win against Fairmont on the 25th. As for St. Xavier, they will head out on the road to face off against La Salle at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. St. Xavier is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.
