Volleyball Recap: Mansfield Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Mansfield challenged Seymour on Monday. The Lions came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered since October 15, 2024.

Mansfield took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 25-22.

Devynn Ball paced Mansfield's offense, picking up eight kills. Ball got some help from Addie Brooke and her 15 assists. Brooke also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kia Medlin, racking up two apiece.

Elianna Wallace had a dynamite game For Seymour., getting 15 digs and five aces. That's the most aces Wallace has posted since back in October of 2024.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Seymour, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.

Mansfield has already played their next contest (against Greenwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Seymour, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Gainesville on the 9th.
