Baseball Recap: Union Grove Takes Down Kenosha Bradford in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Union Grove had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Kenosha Bradford Red Devils a 10-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Broncos as they're now sitting on five straight.

The result came thanks to Evan Northup's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Union Grove let Matthew Gruber and Dominic Pascucci run wild. Gruber went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Pascucci got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Pascucci is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Drew Dinauer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Union Grove's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Kenosha Bradford, they dropped their record down to 7-19 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Union Grove nor the Red Devils have any future games scheduled.
