Baseball Recap: Coventry Comes Up Short

Coventry fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against West Warwick on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wizards by a score of 6-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Oakers of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Jack Mather made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for Coventry and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for West Warwick, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coventry didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-2 loss against Cranston West on the 13th. As for West Warwick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 8-6 defeat against Middletown on the 13th.
