Bronaugh falls despite strong effort from Gretchen Banes

The Bronaugh Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dadeville. Bronaugh has struggled against Dadeville recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Bronaugh still got an impressive performance from Gretchen Banes, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. That was a full 61.1% of Bronaugh's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Bronaugh bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Dadeville, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-10.

Bronaugh will face off against St. Mary's-Colgan at TBD on Tuesday. St. Mary's-Colgan will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Dadeville on the road again on Thursday and play against Northeast Vernon County at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th.
