Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Cougars vs. Champlin Park Rebels

The Centennial Cougars will take on the Champlin Park Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Centennial 3.9, Champlin Park 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Centennial is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Totino-Grace just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. The matchup marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Champlin Park got the win against Osseo on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-2. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by ten runs or more this season.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Champlin Park, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Centennial couldn't quite get it done against Champlin Park in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 as they fell 6-1. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
