Baseball Recap: Anderson Wins Going Away Against Muncie Central

Anderson came out on top against Muncie Central on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run first inning. The Indians put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 13-0 victory. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Kadyn Kendall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Anderson is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise. Kendall was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 13 matches.

In other batting news, Hunter Anderson was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 11 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac McKenzie, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Anderson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Anderson's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Muncie Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Anderson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bearcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
