Basketball Game Preview: Tokay Tigers vs. Wood Wildcats

Tokay hasn't had much luck against Wood recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tokay Tigers face off against the Wood Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Tokay is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Tokay was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to Atwater. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while the Falcons are ranked 97th).

Despite their defeat, Tokay saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Habib Khan, who posted 17 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Hallstrom, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, Wood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by Vanden 82-35. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-12.

This is the second loss in a row for Tokay and nudges their season record down to 10-8. As for Wood, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
