Basketball Recap: Karlee Docman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Burlington over Girard

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Burlington couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 41-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Girard Trojans on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Burlington's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karlee Docman, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Splechter, who earned six points.

Burlington's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Girard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.

As of now, neither Burlington nor Girard have any future games scheduled.
