Burlingame is 8-2 against San Mateo since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Panthers will square off against the Bearcats at 11:00 a.m. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 895 yards in their previous games.
San Mateo will be up against a hot Burlingame team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Panthers walked away with a 44-35 victory over Mountain View on Friday. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 25.9 points per game.

Burlingame got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Will Armstrong out in front who picked up 155 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in one rushing score. Those two receiving touchdowns gave Armstrong a new career-high. Burlingame also got a significant boost from Harrison Evars, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 115 yards.
Burlingame was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 322 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 167 rushing yards in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, San Mateo got themselves on the board against Capuchino on Thursday, but Capuchino never followed suit. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 35-0 win over the Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won three contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Burlingame better keep an eye on Lukas Fitzgerald. He was instrumental in San Mateo's win, rushing for 86 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 70 yards and one touchdown. Another back making a difference was TJ Johnson, who rushed for 114 yards.
Burlingame's record now sits at 6-3. As for San Mateo, their record is now an identical 6-3.
Saturday's game might be decided on the ground. Burlingame has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 184.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like San Mateo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 308.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Burlingame suffered a grim 35-10 defeat to San Mateo in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Panthers, Emmanuel J Fitzgerald (who rushed for 247 yards and three scores while picking up 10.3 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
