Baseball Game Preview: Rowlett Eagles vs. North Garland Raiders

Rowlett is a perfect 10-0 against North Garland since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

North Garland will be up against a hot Rowlett team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Wylie East.

Tyler Holmes tossed a big game, striking out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jake Usrey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, North Garland came up short against Naaman Forest on Friday and fell 6-2.

Maddox Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Zion Naidoo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

North Garland has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17-2 record this season. As for Rowlett, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4-1.

Rowlett was able to grind out a solid win over North Garland in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-1. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
